General Use:
Acrylic plastic glasses and dishes are break-resistant. Acrylic is a good alternative to glass for outdoor use since it won't shatter dangerously like glass drinkware or ceramic tableware.
Dishwasher use:
Hand washing is recommended for acrylic plastic drinking glasses and dishes to retain their luster and beauty. Acrylic tableware can be washed in the dishwasher, but it will eventually cloud and possibly craze (show fine lines) due to the heat of the dishwasher.
Microwave use:
Acrylic drinkware and dishes are not recommended for microwave use.
Scratching and Wear:
Acrylic plates are not scratch-proof. Acrylic plastic dishes are not recommended for heavy use with knives. Melamine Plastic Dishes are ideal for heavy use with knives - see our Plastic Tableware section for several durable Melamine styles.
