Faves! Plastic Stemware & Specialty Glasses

Head-specialty-stemwareIf you’re in the market for plastic martini or margarita glasses, champagne flutes, or specialty stemware like hurricanes or dessert dishes, you’re in luck. Once considered summertime wares, plastic stemware is now available all year long, and with ample choices to fit any need.

We sold many different plastic stemware lines for years, but most brands now sell direct through Amazon so we no longer stock them. But we can sure show you the variety available and give you a bit more information on the lines we love best.

Following are my Top Faves from several plastic stemware collections. Most of these lines also have coordinating plastic wine glasses, too. If you want put together a coordinating set, you can find them on our Plastic Wine Glass Faves Page.

Sonoma / LeadingWare Plastic Stemware

This is my favorite plastic stemware line overall. FYI — we used to call it Napa (if you’re a returning shopper) and the same line is sold under a few brand names; Sonoma, LeadingWare, and probably a few others – both in sets and by the piece. Whatever the name, it offers classic stemware shapes with a thin, glass-like wall and rim and a lovely tapered stem. Like the coordinating wine glasses,  these are crafted in virtually unbreakable, dishwasher-safe plastic which performs wonderfully in homes as well as in bars and restaurants. We sold tens of thousands of these glasses over the years and customers are uniformly pleased with this line.

Plastic Stemware by US Acrylic

US Acrylic makes several drinkware lines in unbreakable Tritan and break-resistant SAN plastics — both dishwasher-safe and great choices for looks and durability. Another plus, the factory is right here in the USA! Their Clarus stemware line is one of the heavier weight styles on the market, with a thick wall and stem. If you’re looking for a chunky, artisan glass look and feel, Clarus is definitely worth a look. US Acrylic also produces several fun specialty glasses such as the stackable goblets (how smart is that?) and the all-purpose stemmed dish – also stackable. We really love US Acrylic for thinking like we do!

Forever & Grand Plastic Stemware by Prodyne

Prodyne offers a nice variety of moderately priced plastic stemware that lasts and lasts. The Forever and Grand plastic stemware lines are made of dishwasher-safe, unbreakable polycarbonate plastic and we’ve sold thousands into heavy-turn foodservice (restaurants, bars, hotels, and casinos) and they perform beautifully. Forever features classic stemware shapes while Grand glasses are a bit more contemporary, with flared-rim martinis and champagne flutes.

G.E.T Plastic Stemware

From hurricane glasses to jumbo goblets, G.E.T is hard to beat when it comes to plastic stemware variety and durability. G.E.T. is one of the world’s largest restaurant plastic tableware manufacturers, so their glasses can withstand just about anything you can dish out at home. One drawback, though — most G.E.T. products are sold by the case. If you’re shopping for stemware in quantities of 12 to 24 or more, you’ll find some really great choices — and prices — with G.E.T.
